Barrel Zinc Electroplating

SERVICES

Barrel Zinc Electroplating

Zinc plating is used to protect metals such as iron and steel against the forces of corrosion. Zinc plating involves the electrodeposition of a thin coating of zinc metal onto the surface of another metal object, known as a substrate. The zinc coating creates a physical barrier that prevents rust from reaching the underlying metal surface. Zinc is chosen because of its innate ability to fight corrosion.

DeWayne's operates two barrel zinc lines. These lines are typically used to plate smaller parts like fasteners. Large numbers of parts are placed inside of a barrel, which rotates as it passes through various wash and plating tanks. Additional features of our barrel lines are highlighted below:

  • Two barrel zinc lines capable of plating hundreds of thousands parts per day

  • Clear, yellow, and black chromate options with sealers

  • Hexavalent free standards

  • GM 3044 approved

  • Baking options available for hydrogen relief
